More than 130 participants attended a seminar hosted by Evonik Animal Health on “Gut Health – A Multidimensional Approach to a Multifactorial Challenge”, in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. The event emphasized the importance of gut health in livestock and offered potential solutions for farmers looking to improve profitability, sustainability and maintain animal welfare standards.

Productive gut health management is fast becoming one of the most important criteria for Bangladesh’s livestock, poultry, and egg production sectors. For the country to gain a competitive advantage in the fields of research, education, and feed, it is critical that its current feed value addition systems be taken to the next level.

“Farmers are faced with several challenges in increasing productivity, in addition to maintaining the health of animals, and both can only be overcome with comprehensive solutions.

Evonik’s new gut health system solutions are designed to address these challenges and we were delighted to be able to discuss them with such a large and engaged audience,” said Dr. Saikat Saha, Business Director, Evonik Animal Nutrition.

The event included a welcome speech by Dr Sanjit Chakraborty; an introduction to Evonik’s System Solution Approach for sustainable livestock production by Dr Saha; and a keynote presentation by Dr Pradeep Krishnan, who took the audience through the changing landscape of gut health. Dr Masudul Islam then hosted a highly interactive Q&A session, and a quiz.

The evening ended with networking and a dinner, where guests exchanged their thoughts and perspectives on gut health, and the development of the animal husbandry sector in the country.
