Every year on October 2nd Friday the whole world celebrates “World Egg day”. This year also celebrating world egg day with a theme: “EGGS FOR A BETTER LIFE”. World Egg Day started in Vienna in 1996, and since then it has inspired egg lovers worldwide to come up with fresh and inventive ways to “honor this magnificent nutrient powerhouse.”
Eggs, arguably one of the earliest foods known to man, have been crucial to people’s lives and health since the dawn of time. These small treats are a great source of protein and the foundation for some of the best morning meals and gourmet additives, such as mayonnaise, the ideal sandwich condiment.
One of the most nutrient-rich whole foods in the world is the egg. From the first 1,000 days of birth through old age, everyone can benefit from its all-around benefits.Eggs are a good source of a variety of nutrients, making them a healthy, affordable addition to the diet for individuals of all ages, including growing adolescents, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, the elderly, and newborns.
Eggs provide numerous health advantages. They contain 13 critical nutrients, including choline, which helps the formation of the developing brain in fetuses, vitamin B12, iron, and iodine, which support optimal brain function and preserve healthy skin in children.According to the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, USA: One egg contains 6.3 grams of protein, 6% of the daily value for Vitamin A, and 75 calories, making it a crucial food for anyone trying to lose weight or maintain their fitness levels.
Along with being a good source of nutrients, eggs are the most reasonably priced and environmentally friendly animal protein source, supporting both the planet and families worldwide. Eggs have a small environmental impact because of recent efficiency improvements and notable production gains.Eggs have the potential to significantly enhance global human health outcomes due to the bioavailability and density of their nutrients. For rural communities throughout the world, the egg industry is a vital source of revenue. Women make up the majority of egg farmers in low- and middle-income nations, and they depend on their farms to provide for their families.
On World Egg Day, people around the world celebrate these delectable little morsels of goodness and the very significant part they play in daily life.
